What magnetic solvers are available in Ansys Maxwell?
Ansys Maxwell includes three magnetic solvers:
Magnetostatic Solver:
Solves static magnetic fields generated by DC currents and permanent magnets, with the capability to handle both linear and nonlinear materials.
Eddy Current Solver:
Solves sinusoidally-varying magnetic fields in the frequency domain, supporting both linear and nonlinear materials. Accounts for displacement currents and induced effects, including skin and current proximity effects.
Transient Magnetic:
Solves transient magnetic fields caused by time-varying or moving electrical sources and permanent magnets in linear or nonlinear materials. Accounts for induced effects, including skin and current proximity effects.
There are two Magnetic Transient solvers: T-Omega and A-Phi.
- T-Omega solves for B/H fields accurately (using 1st order basis functions), while the J-field is calculated using 0-order basis functions.
- A-Phi solves for J/E fields accurately (using 1st order basis functions), while the B/H fields are calculated using 0-order basis functions.
