SpaceClaim issue with importing split lines from SolidWorks
When you go to import the CAD model, click on “Options” (or go to SpaceClaim options). Once the options window is open, uncheck the “Clean and Simplify Geometry” box (shown below). Once this is done, click Ok and try to import your geometry. I have tried this on my machine and was able to get it to bring in the split line into SpaceClaim correctly. It seems the issue is that SpaceClaim (and also Solidworks) have a feature which attempts to “clean up” your CAD file before actually bringing it into the software. Because of the way Solidworks creates the split line, that line is often seen as an extra edge and gets erased during this “cleaning” process. If you uncheck the “clean and simplify geometry” box in SpaceClaim, this should allow it to recognize that split edge as an actual feature instead of just an extra edge.
