Issues when trying to import geometries in Ansys Meshing 2024R2
Geometries cannot be imported in either Workbench or standalone mode
Some users who installed the latest version mentioned that when they opened Ansys Meshing, the following error appeared in the console:
.
This prevented the import of any geometry file, even when using a Geometry Interface for a specific CAD tool (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.). Some users installed the Patch available in the Ansys Customer Portal, but it did not work. The issue here deals with the file named '.fluent', shown in the first line in the picture above.
.
Procedure
1- Close all Ansys products
2- Open a Window (Ctrl+E) and type the path "C://Users/admin" to locate the file.
3- Rename the file as '.fluent.old'.
4- Open Workbench and try again.
This resolves the issue when working in either Workbench or standalone mode. In the latter, this works when using both Fluent modules: the one in 'Analysis Systems' and in 'Component Systems'.
.
Thank you.
