How to solve the "ansyslmd: Cannot connect to license server system. (-15,10032)" error
The Ansys vendor daemon process uses a dynamic port, and the occurrence of the -15 error indicates a communication failure for this process.
The steps below show how to resolve this issue:
- Navigate to the <installation directory>:\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\Licensing\license_files
- Copy the 'ansyslmd.lic' file to the desktop, add 'PORT=1056' in the VENDOR ansyslmd line, save it, and then replace the old 'ansyslmd.lic' file in the mentioned location.
After completing this step, restart the license manager:
-
Go to start > ANSYS License Management Center
-
In 'View Status/Start/Stop License Manager,' STOP the service, and then START it again.
Make sure that TCP port 1056 is open on the server, client machine, and VPN endpoint. To test the connection, you can use telnet from the client computer to the server using port 1056. If the connection is successful, you should see a blank screen.
