How to resolve Ansys 2025R2 Add-In loading issue for SolidWorks?
This article addresses the issue where the Ansys Add-In fails to load or stay active in SolidWorks, despite a successful run of the Ansys CAD Configuration Manager, with no error messages displayed. It provides a step-by-step solution involving the creation and execution of a BAT file to copy necessary security library files from the Ansys installation to the SolidWorks plugin folder for Ansys 2025R2.
Answer
Despite successfully running the Ansys CAD Configuration Manager for SolidWorks, the Ansys Add-in will not load or remain loaded in SolidWorks. (In the SolidWorks Add-ins window below, the Ansys Add-in will not remain checked.) No error messages are given.
- Create a BAT file with the name SolidWorksAddIn_Ansys252.bat, and the following contents below. Note: BAT file is for Ansys 2025R2.
- Exit Ansys and SolidWorks.
- As an administrator, run the .bat in a Windows command prompt.
- Open SolidWorks.
- Open the Add-in window.
- Select the Active Add-in checkbox and the Startup checkbox for Ansys.
Description/Cause:
