How to reset an Ansys license file
Reinstalling your license file can resolve issues if it becomes corrupted.
When the license file is successfully installed through the License Manager, a license file (.lic) is created in the license files folder. To reset it:
- Obtain all license files (.txt) that were issued to you.
- Navigate to C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\Licensing\license_files\ansyslmd.lic and rename the file, adding ".old" to the file name.
- Move the old installed license file to the folder called "backup".
- Install your license files by opening the Ansys License Manager and selecting "Add a License File" from the left menu.
