      How to reset an Ansys license file

      Reinstalling your license file can resolve issues if it becomes corrupted.

      When the license file is successfully installed through the License Manager, a license file (.lic) is created in the license files folder. To reset it:

      1. Obtain all license files (.txt)  that were issued to you.
      2. Navigate to C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\Licensing\license_files\ansyslmd.lic and rename the file, adding ".old" to the file name.
      3. Move the old installed license file to the folder called "backup".
      4. Install your license files by opening the Ansys License Manager and selecting "Add a License File" from the left menu.
