How to force boundary layers in sharp edges in ANSYS Fluent watertight meshing
Solve the stair-step boundary layer in sharp edges
Initial Mesh (Discontinuous boundary layer):
- In the boundary layer task associated with the faces where the boundary layer is not being created, go to advanced options, and in "Ignore Boundary Layers at Acute Angles?" set it to no.
- Now, in the volume mesh option, go to advanced options, and in the "Use default stair-step handling?" select No, Exclude both checks.
- You have to make both changes to achieve the results. Also, to improve the quality of the mesh in this region, you may need to do local refinement.
