How to enable force monitors for different surfaces in Ansys Discovery 2025R2?
In Ansys Discovery it is possible to monitor forces for different applications including external aerodynamics. Now, for 2025R2, the monitors can be created for different surfaces, but this option is disabled by default.
Answer
- If you run a model and define a force monitor on surface 1 and another on surface 2, you will get the same result. The pressure distribution is shown in the next picture. The projected area for each one is the same, but the forces are expected to be different.
- To fix that, in Discovery click on the three lines > Settings
- Click on Advanced > Beta Options > Enable the option. Restart Discovery.
- Open your project in Discovery and run the model again. The force is now calculated for each surface.
