How do I wrap a 3D panel around a cylindrical surface in HFSS?
Wrapping a sheet around a surface is straightforward, but what if you want to wrap a 3D panel (with thickness) around a curved surface such as a cylinder? This article walks through the steps in HFSS.
- Place the 3D panel so it is tangential to the cylindrical surface (touching along one line).
- On the 3D panel, select the face that touches the surface. From the shortcuts menu, choose Surface → Create Object From Face.
- Select the newly created sheet, then from the shortcuts menu choose Sheet → Project Wrap.
- Enter the desired thickness and press OK.
The result is a 3D panel correctly wrapped around the cylindrical surface
