Generating 2D field plot in 3D Layout

How to plot a 2D field plot in 3D Layout. 3D plot are easy, but not the 2D one.

Clip planes are used for 2D plots. Generate first a 3D plot of the field. Navigate to View->Clip plane. Rotate the Z-axis so that it is perpendicular to the plane of interest. By using the mouse, you can move the clip axis or modify its coordinates. All geometries and 3D plots will be cut, allowing one to see the 2D field on the x-y axis.
